Me…a 1930s wife?

Hah!

You Would Make an Okay 1930′s Wife

You have some of the attributes of an ideal 1930′s wife… but you probably didn’t intend it to be that way.

You don’t buy into retro gender roles, though you do embrace your femininity at times.

A 1930′s man may find you passable, but you probably wouldn’t want anything to do with him.

You got that right. Maybe it’s because I work in a industry dominated by the more masculine sex, I treat them my equal and not expect advantages or disadvantages for being a woman. Or maybe it’s perhaps that I am not married…yet.

On that note, I did find my wedding dress. And if you’re one of those dreamy eyed wannabe brides, look away now, for the most horrible has happened!

Mr H was there when I picked it out.

I will tell you that story next time! ;)

I was tagged by witsandnuts and my tagging victims tonight are Gail, Odette and for a little fun, the wonderful Mr Flighty (j/k ;) unless you are curious)

You can take the quiz here.

So…I’m engaged.

I mentioned a few months back how busy I was. I thought I should elaborate since then. I will not become one of those women who become totally obsessed with their wedding day. So if you are hoping that this blog might transform into a bridezilla diary, move on. The idea of looking for wedding stuff sends a shudder of revulsion down my spine. That’s why I got a lot of stuff sorted within a few months of him asking. Now I can relax try to relax and not worry about it until we approach autumn of next year.

Sorted:

  1. Date
  2. Wedding dress
  3. Rings
  4. Invitations (handmade!)
  5. Ceremony Venue
  6. Reception Venue
  7. Photographer
  8. Bouquet & Corsages

How did he ask?

The day before I flew off to my 3 week holiday without him in Switzerland, we had a picnic in the Peak District. Somewhere halfway up a “mountain” (okay, hill) I sat down on a boulder and stubbornly announced that I would not move an inch higher (due to a great fear of the distance from my head to the rocky outcrop below us). Then he cracked a corny joke comparing the way up to the top with how we had a long way to go and we were still beginning our lives. Then asked.

It was perfect.

Been a bit busy ;)

Engagement

So…I have been a bit busy ;)

I’m on holiday at the moment in Switzerland for three weeks, enjoying the beautiful gardens of Mainau and the sunshine by the lakes. I will be posting pics soon :) I will be taking home lots of new ideas!

When I get home, I will provide more updates on my garden. Provided that everything hasn’t died while I am away.
