Handmade Favor Bag Factory

You know I’ve started getting serious about this wedding thingy when I’ve created a separate set on Flickr just for wedding preparation pics.
I know some people might think favors are a waste of money, but I think it adds to the personal touch during the reception and is a sweet way to thank your guests for attending (some probably flying in from Switzerland!).
I checked the already made favor bags the stores sold and they just looked…tacky. I concluded that I could make better ones, being a crafter with the power of the sewing machine after all. So I bought quite a few meters of this lovely fabric and some black ribbon. Modern and stylish, very much like the venue for our reception.

It took only a few hours and I was on a roll. By no time I had 40 favor bags done (along with a few prototypes that went awry). They were incredibly easy to make. Here are the instructions. I was thinking of embroidering the names of my guests on them, but as concluded in many previous posts, I’m way too busy. It would’ve been a nice touch though.

Now I just have to figure out what should go in it. Gebrannte Mandeln? I plan to post up that recipe soon. ^_^ And I still have quite a lot of this fabric for stash. I might try and make some Japanese knot bags with it. Stay tuned!
Ps. For those who hear the word wedding and run for the hills, you might want to avoid this blog for the next few months ;) My time is so limited now that all the crafting I can do will probably have something to do with the wedding. This way it fulfills my crafting need and gets the wedding preparations rolling. But to make you feel better, I hope to be doing some crafts that do not involve wedding (or else I might tear my hair out) and will not be squealing my head off at you about the pretty white veils / tiaras / toogirlythings. Y’know me better than that ;)

Wow, these are a bazillion times better than the standard organza favor bags — good job! Can’t wait to see what other craftiness you have up your sleeve! And thanks for the comment tips (+ compliments :) )– I didn’t realize that default was such a hindrance, and now it’s fixed :)

omg, so glad i didn’t go the favor route for my wedding! we had all of 12 people there (including the b&g), we backpacked in, & all we provided was a case of Pabst & Twinkies (champagne & cake, ya know.) ;)
your bags are adorkable though!
ps – i’ve been a very bad reader of late. just so ya know.

Oh, they look beautiful! I’m always partial to food related favors, but the bags are so pretty to just hold candies. Maybe a photo magnet. I don’t know, I eloped, so I give you lots of credit for doing things yourself!
